The Langhe region of Piemonte is also famous for its truffles and every year during the month of October a huge truffle festival is held here in Alba.
The town itself takes on a carnival type atmosphere and includes endless stalls trading in this product in additional to activities like the Donkey palio and various parades where the locals will dress up in traditional costumes.

Prices vary from 5 Euros to hundreds of Euros for the legendry white truffle.
All the local restaurants of course will be offering truffle based dishes and will in fact weigh it front of you at the table.

The Langhe also offers many great wines which make a great combination with your truffle dish, examples include Dolcetto, Nebbiolo and Barbera.

Great detail in this informative article! I've been going to Piedmont for 15 years, and didn't know the Celts had got that far. Maybe my Celtic ancestors were related to the Piedmontese!
